This is a sweet treat I made with some apples that was going soft and is inspired from a Swedish cooking show last summer. It’s amazing and like hubby called it,mmmmmm dessert.
Serves 4
1 1/2 cup almond paste, grated
1 1/2 tbs brandy (optional)
3 tbs butter
3/4 cup cup pistachios
1/2 cup almond flakes
2 large apple, peeled, cored and cut lengthwise
Preheat oven to F400. Blend almond paste, brandy, butter and pistachios well. Place apples cut side up in a baking dish. “Stuff” almond paste mix into the apples. Sprinkle almond flakes over. Bake for 15 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream or cream.
