Hey there, fellow food adventurer! 🌿🍽️ Ready to take your kitchen skills up a notch and make your dishes dance with flavor?
Here's the scoop on how to use spices and herbs to add that fancy touch to your cooking:
1. Herbs are leaves that are used fresh in cooking. They usually have a very distinct flavor and aroma, so it's easy to tell when you've added too much. Some common herbs include rosemary, thyme, basil, oregano, parsley, cilantro, mint and dill.
2. Spices are dried seeds or fruits that have been ground into powder or paste form. Spices are best when they're whole or freshly ground—the flavor degrades over time as they age. Some common spices include cinnamon sticks; cloves; nutmeg; paprika.
3. Herbs and spices can be used interchangeably in most recipes—they will taste different than if you'd used them alone but they'll still add plenty of flavor! Happy cooking!
