This summer I started taking CBD oil to help with the auto-immune disease I have and have noticed a huge difference: my thyroid is less swollen and I sleep much better. CBD, short for “cannabidiol,” is a natural remedy that is a compound found in cannabis. In recent years it has gained popularity for its therapeutic properties.
There is a difference of opinion about whether CBD oil is legal in all 50 of the United State today. I could not find which states are not allowing the use of CBD oil. So, what is so controversial about CBD oil? Since CBD oil is a compound found in the cannabis plant, there are some questions about whether it’s an illegal drug or not. The answer is “no” because the amount of THC, or Tetrahydrocannabinol (the main psychoactive compound found in cannabis), in CBD is so low — less than 0.3% — that it’s not considered a drug and is very useful for its health benefits.
CBD oil may among many things help with the following:
- Pain relief
- Sleep
- Anxiety
- Reduction of acne
- Arthritis
- Reduction inflammation
CBD oil can be taken orally or applied to the skin. I buy my oil at my local farmers market but there are many both stores and online stores to find good high grade CBD oil.
As with any natural remedy, it’s a good idea to talk to a doctor before taking CBD oil.
