Spring Foraging Find: Pine Spruce Tips!
The forest is waking up, and one of the first treasures to emerge are spruce tips—those tender, bright green buds at the end of spruce tree branches. These citrusy, resinous little gems are packed with vitamin C and bursting with wild flavor.
How to Use Them:
• Infuse in vinegar or honey for a woodland twist
• Blend into compound butter forroasted veggies
• Add to a jar with sugar and let sugar melt and turn
Into a yummy syrup which is a great cough syrup
• Make a refreshing spruce tip tea
Foraging Tip: Harvest only a few tips per branch to avoid stressing the tree. And make sure you’re harvesting from true spruce, not toxic lookalikes.
Have you tried spruce tips before? What’s your favorite way to use them?

Chemical-Free Clothes Are as Important as Chemical-Free Food
We pay close attention to what we put in our bodies—but what about what we put on them?
Many clothes are made with toxic dyes and synthetic chemicals that can harm both your health and the planet. But awareness is growing, and so is the shift toward non-toxic, eco-friendly fashion.
Choosing chemical-free clothing supports your well-being and promotes sustainable practices like organic farming, clean water use, and low-impact production.
Organic cotton, for example, is grown without harsh pesticides or fertilizers—just like chemical-free food, it’s better for you and the environment.
Want to make the switch? Start with these brands:
1. Kotn – Certified B Corp using eco-friendly dyes & sustainably grown cotton
2. Eileen Fisher – Uses organic fibers & non-toxic dyes
3. Prana – Sustainable styles made with organic & recycled fabrics
4. Patagonia – Eco-conscious outdoor wear with a mission
5. Pact – Organic cotton basics with no harsh chemicals
6. Sanctuary

6. Alternative Apparel – Low-impact dyes, recycled materials, & eco-packaging
Every conscious clothing choice is a step toward a cleaner, healthier world.
Your skin deserves the same care as your plate.

Spring Foraging 101: Safe, Sustainable & Seasonal Finds
Spring is here, and so is the perfect time to reconnect with nature through foraging! Whether you’re gathering wild greens or mushrooms, here’s how to do it responsibly:
How to Forage Safely & Sustainably:
• Know before you go: Learn to ID plants accurately—mistakes can be dangerous. Use a guidebook or app, or better yet, go with an expert.
• Harvest ethically: Only take what you need. Leave plenty behind for wildlife and to allow regrowth.
• Respect the land: Stay on trails when possible, don’t disturb habitats, and always ask permission on private land.
• Leave no trace: Pack out what you pack in, and don’t uproot plants unnecessarily.
What to Forage in Spring:
• Morel mushrooms (be 100% sure!)
• Wild ramps (harvest leaves, not the bulbs to help them thrive)
• Fiddlehead ferns
• •. ground elder, goutweed, bishop`s
• Stinging nettles (gloves recommended!)
• Chickweed and cleavers
• Dandelion greens & flowers
• Violets (beautiful and edible)
Take only memories (and maybe a small basket of greens), and leave the forest just as wild as you found it.
Tag a friend you’d bring on a foraging walk!
