Cloth Diapers on a Budget

Nov, 14, 2016

By Fredrica Syren:

I see more and more eco-friendly parents choosing cloth diapers for their babies, which is a trend I’m very happy about; however, for some parents, the initial cost of cloth diapers might be discouraging.

Let’s face the fact that diapers, no matter whether cloth or disposable, are expensive. But the benefit of cloth diapers is that they are a one-time expense, and then the diapers should last throughout the child’s diapers years — and maybe even used for a sibling. I used my cloth diapers for each of my boys and, at one point, for both of them simultaneously. So I used my cloth diapers for 6 years. Cloth diapers are also the best eco-friendly option.cloth-diapers-main

Now, how can you afford cloth diapers on a budget? Luckily, there are budget options available. First of all, forget the mainstream and most popular cloth diapers and choose cheaper, no-name diapers. The good news is that there are so many different kinds of cloth diaper brands on the market, and they are usually equally good and are much more affordable. Register for cloth diapers for your baby shower—This a good way to get the cloth diapers you need.

Buy used cloth diapers—This is the second bit of good news: cloth diapers have great secondhand value, so there are many options for buying quality cloth diapers on Craig’s list or EBay. And this also is where you can sell you own diapers when the day comes, and make some money back.20111007_jlsfoto_0024
