Red old barnBy Fredrica Syren:

The Old Red Barn is an Eco-focused children’s book about American farmland written and illustrated by Kevin Kelly and along with Dr. Chris Laingen, The Old Red Barn tells a relevant story about American Farms that kids can understand. So many children don’t know where their food comes from or how it grows and this book will explain that in a way children can understand. The Old Red Barn is filled with things for kids to point to and identify.

What is so unique about this book is that by buying it you also will help the environment because for each book that is printed 1 tree will be planted. The whole goal is to publish a great book and simultaneously build a forest. Why does this matter? Well last year over 4 billion books were printed and it took over 30 million trees to make them. Most books are not printed on recycled paper. They are currently raising funds to print this book and if the project gets funded, they will be able to print, package, and distribute over 3000 books, and plant over 3000 trees.

Here’s a link to the Kickstarter with a 90 second video further explaining.
