As you might have suspected, in 2013 we’ll be welcoming another baby to our family. In March we’re expecting a boy who will be joining his big sister Bella and big brother Noah. Bella is so excited, while Noah has no clue about what is going on. James and I feel so blessed to have another healthy baby coming into our lives. We love the idea of a big family, so here we go!
The pregnancy started out very uneventfully, and I swear that sometimes I would forget I’m pregnant if it were not for my growing belly and being tired a lot. I think that this being my third child, the two others and my work keep me from thinking about how I feel. I’ve continued exercising every day, practicing yoga, cooking, working and gardening. I did fail my 1-hour glucose test but later passed a 3-hour test. Besides some bad heartburn, I really can’t complain.
However, keeping up with activities like a normal, busy mom has landed me on bed rest. Even I need to rest sometimes and not to overdo it. It’s so frustrating to lie still and have to let go of some control. Luckily, I have an amazing husband, great kids who love to help take care of mama and, most of all, an amazing group of friends who have stepped up all the way to help out without any concern for their own lives. Times like this are when you know who your real friends are.
Baby and I are doing great, and with tons of rest we’ll keep on cooking.
Today I’m 34 weeks pregnant and according to To What To Expect When Expecting, the baby is measuring about five pounds and could be as tall as 20 inches. We already know from an ultrasound that our little man is taller than that and weights about five and half pound. For moms at 34 weeks, the increase in hormones might make our vision better. I can’t say I have noticed any changes for me.
